Robert “Bob” D. Cresap, age 84 of Cloquet, Minnesota passed away Monday, December 23, 2019 at Essentia-St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth. He was born June 8, 1935 in Wimbledon, North Dakota, the son of Clarence and Nettie (Vogel) Cresap. Bob graduated from Wimbledon High School, Valley City State College, University of South Dakota, and St. Cloud State University. He earned a Master’s Degree in physics and math and taught in North Dakota for 5 years, at Cloquet Sr. High School for 28 ½ years, and Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College, where he was Director of College in the High Schools, as well as a physics and algebra instructor. Bob also was a Real Estate Broker and worked for Sorenson Realty for 25 years. He was united in marriage to Eileen Rolfzen on September 30, 1955 in Wimbledon, ND. Bob was a former president of the Cloquet Education Association, former president of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, lifetime member of the National Education Association, and member of the Golden K Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, coin collecting, and owned and operated a home sawmill. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Wesley Cresap; and one sister, Elva Witthauer. He is survived by his wife, Eileen; four children, Karey (Chris Anderson) Cresap, Kim (Kathy Isaacson) Cresap, Candace (Todd) Cresap-Blomquist, and Kelly (Karla) Cresap; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Michaelson and Inez Leigman; brother, Eldon Cresap; and several nieces and nephews.

Eileen J. Rolfzen Cresap
Eileen Julia Cresap, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020 in Evergreen Knoll in Cloquet. She was born on September 26, 1936 in Valley City, ND to Melvin and Evelyn (Bardell) Rolfzen. Eileen graduated from Leal High School and went on to complete her education graduating from Valley City State College. She married Robert Cresap on September 30, 1955. Eileen started her career as an elementary teacher in North Dakota. She was employed for many years at the Cloquet Hospital and then as a financial worker with Carlton County Human Services. Eileen had many hobbies enjoying quilting, crocheting, knitting, collecting autumn leaf dishes, bowling, golfing, bridge club, and a master Bingo player. Eileen was the organist for many years at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Eileen was preceded in death by her grandparents who raised her, Floyd and Blanche Bardell; her mother, Evelyn; her husband, Robert only two months prior; and brother, Dwane Guscette, Jr. She is survived by her four children, Karey (Chris Anderson) Cresap, Kim (Kathy Isaacson) Cresap, Candace (Todd) Cresap-Blomquist, and Kelly (Karla) Cresap; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Jeannine (Tom) Bornemann, JoNell Guscette, and Ava (Cary) Ost; brothers, Gary Guscette, Gile (Marjorie) Guscette, Raymond (Judy) Guscette, and Jon (Delilah) Guscette; and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00- 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020 in Nelson Funeral Care. Refreshments will be served throughout the celebration. Memorials may be directed to the Cloquet Education Foundation in Eileen’s name, in lieu of flowers. There will be a Committal Service held in Leal, ND for both Bob and Eileen in the summer of 2020.
